The Best Way To Take Care Of Your Circulon Pans

The Best Way To Take Care Of Your Circulon Pans

So, you’ve decided to treat yourself to some new Circulon pans. Congratulations! We hope you’re looking forward to a lifetime of great cooking with your new purchase. As pioneers of non-stick, we guarantee our products will last you a lifetime. However, it’s also important that you know how to look after your cookware in the best way possible - after all, if you know how to cook after your cookware, it will look after you.

We’re sure you’re already planning which delicious recipes you’re going to be using them for. But before you do that, take a look at these tips to ensure that you get the best out of your pans, each and every time.

Season your pans

One of the best things about Circulon pans is that you can use them to cook food without using a drop of oil. But, before you start cooking, it’s a good idea to season them. Pour a tablespoon of oil onto the pan’s surface, and swirl it around so it gets into every nook and cranny. Then, heat the pan for 30 - 60 seconds, remove from the heat and let it cool.

The idea is to bolster the nonstick surface by adding a layer of fat. The oil adds an extra layer of protection against oxidation. Do this once and you can use them to cook delicious, oil-free meals again and again and again.

Choose your tools wisely

Knives have a lot of uses, but cooking is not one of them. Cutting your food when it’s in the pan can damage the non-stick coating.

For best results, switch to wooden or silicone alternatives. Using these will help to extend the life of your cookware ensuring you get the best out of it for years to come.

Banish cooking sprays

You may love your cooking spray, but sadly, it doesn’t love your non-stick pans. While they contain oil, many of them also contain lecithin, an emulsifier which builds up on the surface of your pan and can become impossible to remove.

As an alternative, try an oil mister, or dip a paper towel into your cooking oil of choice and rub it over the (cold) surface of the pan prior to cooking.

Turn down the heat

Your Circulon pans don’t need as much heat as you think they do. Not only do they cook 20% faster, but also more evenly. Therefore, we recommend using the low and medium settings on your hob to ensure that you get an exceptional cooking performance every time. Using a lower heat will also help to prolong the life of your pans. When the heat’s turned up too high, food deposits on your pan will eventually carbonise and form a layer which covers the non-stick coating and will prevent it from working effectively.

Clean them properly

Cleaning your pans properly is essential if you want to keep them looking impeccable for longer. We recommend allowing the pan to cool first (if only so you don’t burn your fingers!) Then, using warm soapy water, clean around the pan in a circular motion using a brush or nylon sponge. Because of the superior quality of our non-stick, cleaning is effortless and there won’t be the need to use any abrasive pads which can deteriorate and damage the interior of the pan if used regularly.

We recommend the Circulon Cleaning Brush with Scraper Head.
