Researchersfrom New Mexico think a cabbage-rich diet might be the reason Polish women havea significantly reduced risk of breast cancer – one that triples after theyimmigrate to the US. And while eating more than three serves of cabbage a weekas a teenager produces the best results, cabbage still provides a protectiveeffect if women increase their intake during adulthood.

The trick is eating itraw, or only slightly cooked – the cooking process seems to destroy or reducethe effectiveness of anti-cancer enzymes.
