Why Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick is the Best Ceramic Cookware on the Market

There’s no shortage of options to choose from if you’re shopping for a new set of ceramic cookware. But how can you be sure you’re making the best choice for your kitchen and cooking style?

Enter Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick. Made with our ground breaking LaserDefense™ ceramic nonstick technology, our new ceramic nonstick collection combines everything you love about ceramic—a cooking surface made without PFAS*, easy cooking, easy cleanup, and a modern look—with stress-tested durability that outperforms ceramic competitors.

Here, we share why Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ is the Toughest Ceramic Nonstick†—and the best choice if you’re looking to stock your kitchen with fresh ceramic pots and pans.

Finally, Truly Durable Ceramic Cookware
Ceramic cookware has exploded in popularity for its ability to easily release food without the use of PFAS in its nonstick surface. But ceramic-coated cookware is notoriously delicate. The nonstick properties of its cooking surface tend to break down much faster than traditional nonstick, leaving ceramic-lovers needing to replace their cookware much more frequently than anyone would like to.

Here at Circulon, we decided to solve that problem. We spent years developing and testing a unique ceramic coating that is tough enough to surpass our own standards as an industry pioneer and leader in nonstick cookware durability. The result? Ceramic-coated cookware that is nine times more scratch-resistant, six times more stain-resistant, and has a cooking surface that retains its nonstick properties for twice as long† as the other ceramic nonstick cookware brands in the market.

Next-Generation Ceramic Coating: Introducing LaserDefense™
To create the Toughest Ceramic Nonstick† cookware, we designed a pan engineered for durability from the inside out. The secret to its strength lies in the unique surface we developed for the Halo collection, which we call Circulon LaserDefense™. Our engineers created this beautiful and functional pattern of concentric circles by laser-etching tiny, raised microdots into the cookware’s aluminium core.

Each tiny dot you see on the pan is actually formed of even more microscopic concentric circles on top of which the ceramic nonstick coating is applied. (More on that in a minute.) This LaserDefense™ “micro-dot matrix” acts as a protective barrier by elevating your utensils slightly above the main surface of the pan. That means an unprecedented level of scratch-resistance for longer-lasting performance, which is why we call Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ The Toughest Ceramic Nonstick†.

The ceramic coating that we use on our Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ collection was also developed with durability and longevity in mind. On a micro level, it is composed of an extremely dense cross-linked ceramic matrix formed through a sol-gel process and reinforced with organic compounds to create a nonstick surface that is slick and strong, all without the use of microplastics, PFAS, or forever chemicals*.

Rigorously Tested for Real-World Performance
As we developed the Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ collection, we realized that most ceramic cookware brands' quality and durability testing didn’t come anywhere close to mimicking how cookware is used in real kitchens. So if you have a ceramic pan that’s lost its nonstick properties much faster than promised, don’t worry; it’s not you, it’s the testing.

To prove that Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick cookware is as tough as it gets, we developed a new set of tests to more accurately gauge the nonstick coating performance, stain resistance, and scratch resistance of Halo against other ceramic nonstick pans. Across the board, Halo outperformed every other ceramic nonstick cookware brand.

Effortless Cooking, Effortless Cleanup
Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick sets a new gold standard for ceramic cookware when it comes to durability, longevity, and stain-resistance. And there’s even more to love about our newest collection.

Goodbye, Hotspots
Low-quality ceramic cookware can be prone to hotspots, which cause the already-delicate nonstick coating to degrade even faster. But that’s not the case with Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™. The cookware in this collection features a heavy-gauge aluminium construction that ensures fast, uniform heating with no hotspots.

That means perfectly even golden-brown pancakes and deliciously crispy pieces of fish that release from the surface of the pan easily, every time.

Designed for Versatility
Ceramic cookware is meant to be the pots and pans that you reach for every day, whether you’re whipping up a one-pot meal that goes from the stove top to the oven or preparing that weeknight meal the whole family loves.

Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick can keep up with whatever you want to create in the kitchen. The collection is safe for temperatures up to 260°C /500°F (Glass lids 180°C /350°F) on the stovetop and in the oven, which is higher than most ceramic cookware on the market. (Low-quality ceramic tends to degrade if used regularly for anything but low- to medium-temperature cooking.) It also features thoughtfully designed glass lids with silicone rims and a vent hole to seal and keep in rich flavours while you’re simmering and steaming your favourite recipes.

Quick Cleanup
Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick makes doing the dishes a snap when it comes time to clean up after a lazy weekend breakfast or speedy weeknight dinner. Unlike most ceramic cookware, Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick is tough enough to go in the dishwasher (though we’d still recommend handwashing the majority of the time to ensure the nonstick surface lasts for as long as possible). Flush rivets, which are also coated in our slippery ceramic nonstick, ensure that food particles don’t get trapped in hard-to-clean nooks and crannies for ultra-fast cleaning.

Good Looks, Great Performance
Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick doesn’t sacrifice the aesthetic beauty of ceramic pans for the sake of extra durability and performance. The new collection is available in crisp Pearl White and chic Sage Green, both of which offer a high-end monochromatic look that makes a statement on your countertop.

And the best part? With a surface that is six times more stain-resistant† than other ceramic nonstick brands, your Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick pans will stay looking beautiful for years to come.

The New Standard for Ceramic Cookware
We’ve always been the pioneers of nonstick cookware—and the new Circulon Halo with LaserDefense™ Ceramic Nonstick collection is no different. It’s the next generation of ceramic nonstick: one that far outlasts other brands when it comes to chipping, cracking, flaking, abrasing, and staining. And, with a nonstick surface that lasts twice as long as typical ceramic cookware, you can finally cook safe and healthy meals for you and your family on pots and pans that are easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to maintain.

*Product design does not involve intentionally adding to the cooking surface any of these substances which may otherwise be present in the environment.
