Beef, bacon and beer bolognese

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 250 g Barilla spaghetti

Mince Ingredients

  • 300 g beef mince
  • 6 slices salami, chopped  
  • 2 rashers bacon, chopped  
  • ½ onion, chopped  
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 2 cm piece of leek, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • Pinch of salt

Sauce

  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • 2 cups passata
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup beer
  • Ashgrove parmesan cheese, grated to servePage Break

Method

Step 1

Process the mince ingredients together – either using a KitchenAid mincer attachment or a food processor

Step 2

Cook mince in a frypan until brown

Add the sauce ingredients and stir through

Reduce the heat and simmer for around 15 minutes

Step 3

Cook the spaghetti using the instructions on the packet

Step 4

Place the pasta on a serving plate, spoon over the bolognese and grated parmesan
